What To Do After Getting Off of Birth Control

Question:

Hello, thank you for listening. I’m 36 years old. After being on birth control pills for 9 years, I stopped taking them in Sept. I feel like crap in every way. I would like to do a cleanse but it has to be realistic and I’ve been taking every herb I can take for hormonal balances and fertility. We’ve been trying to get pg for 3 months. Do you have any helpful suggestions? Thank you for your time.

Hethir:

Hello,

Thanks for your email. You are right on the money with wanting to do a cleanse.

Birth control pills are full of hormones, so cleansing the liver will be your first priority. Remember to be gentle with your body at this phase, you have been manipulating it with hormones for 9 years; give it some time to come back into balance. Three months is usually the bare minimum recommended wait time before ttc, after coming off of birth control.

The second step after you cleanse is to revamp your diet. The Nutrient Dense Fertility Diet is designed to get your body all of the nutrients it needs to have energy, create hormones, prepare for conception and support a healthy pregnancy. After you are eating healthier you should feel a whole lot better. Shift your diet before you are pregnant, so that when you are pregnant you are healthy and able to enjoy it.

The third step is to use gentle tonic, hormone balancing herbs. Start these after your cleanse. My favorite, and the one I use, is the Fertility Kit. It has everything you need for creating optimum conception conditions in your body. It balances hormones, prepares the uterus for implantation, creates ideal cervical fluids, etc.

Last but not least is to get on a whole-food prenatal. I take Complete Prenatal Systemicon or Baby & Meicon

Keep a positive mindset and remind yourself you are going to be pregnant very soon, so let’s prepare now to be the healthiest mommy you can. It will make all of the difference.

Best wishes,
Hethir
