Hi Mommy TTC,

Yes, many people have taken the 10 Day Fertility Smoothie Challenge and increased their fertility. This challenge is to help you boost your overall nutrition while working to boost fertility, in preparation for conception. It is not a "cure all". If you have other fertility issues that you know of, you may need to consider other healing methods in addition to diet changes. If you are not sure if you have any other fertility issues you may want to start of by changing your <a href="http://natural-fertility-info.com/fertility-diet" rel="nofollow">diet</a>, <a href="http://natural-fertility-info.com/prepare-for-conception" rel="nofollow">detoxifying your body</a>, or consider <a href="http://natural-fertility-info.com/increase-your-chances-of-becoming-pregnant-with-pregnancy-prep.html" rel="nofollow">herbs for preconception</a>.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Sandy,

We ship to all of Africa except Nigeria. You can purchase <a href="http://www.naturalfertilityshop.com/Fertility-Superfoods-s/66.htm" rel="nofollow">Maca, Spirulina and Whey Protein Powder</a> in our Natural Fertility Shop. Quinoa is a seed that is cooked like a grain, it is from South America. You may have to ask your local market if they carry it. I am not familiar with African foods, so I cannot say what foods would be a good substitute.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Clare,

No that would be fine, it is up to you to figure out comparable fruits to replace them with because it will change the flavor and consistency of the smoothies as well. We just recently put out an article on "cold" or "damp" foods and how we feel about them at this link at our 21 Day Fertility Diet Challenge: http://fertilitydiet.ning.com/forum/topics/is-cold-food-and-drink-bad-for

We also have a new article on Candida and yeast infections at this link: http://natural-fertility-info.com/candida-fertility.html

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi

I'm currently on the anti-candida diet (postponing TTC for 3 months after years of fungal issues) which closely follows your fertility diet except it doesn't allow fruit. I'm looking forward to getting back on with conception next month and am able to introduce low-sugar fruit in a few weeks - yey! But this won't yet include mango, peach or pinapple and especially banana which is a damp fruit. I was also advised by a fertility acupuncturist to avoid banana for the same reason. Would it be a big issue to exclude these 4 fruits or particularly banana from the smoothies?

Thanks

Hi Jessica,

Most healthfood stores sell a variety of protein powders. Ask a sales associate to help you. We also sell a plain whey protein powder, you can see it here: http://www.naturalfertilityshop.com/Fertilica-Whey-Protein-p/7531.htm

Best Wishes,

HI

what kind of protein powder can I buy? I saw a few at the store but they come in either chocolate or vanilla. Some are for people who are building muscle. Is there a plain protein powder?

Thanks

Hi Sam,

For supplements that are suggested to be taken on an empty stomach and you choose to take them with food they may become less effective. Maca is a food and is suggested to be taken with food, the powder should be mixed with juice, oatmeal or smoothies.

Some supplements should be taken on an empty stomach, for example Zymessence should be taken on an empty stomach. The enzymes in Zymessence will not be able to do their job correctly if taken with food. Some herbs need to be taken on an empty stomach before eating so that the body can absorb them properly.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

My question is how bad is it if you don't take a supplement on an empty stomach if the label says to take it on an empty stomach? EXAMPLE: Maca.

IN GENERAL: does a supplement lose effectiveness if NOT taken on an empty stomach? What is the purpose of taking any supplement on an empty stomach?

Hi Sam,

I am not sure about which supplements you are speaking of, but the directions for use on each product label should say if that product should be taken with food or on an empty stomach, every supplement is different.

Have a good day!

Hi Shirley,

Yes. Fertility Smoothies may help to balance hormones over time which may lead to reduced PMS. Vitex and Evening Primrose Oil may be beneficial in reducing PMS symptoms.

Best Wishes,

Georgia,

Depending on what he advised for you, can you think of ways to be creative and add them to a smoothie? I bet you can!
