Hi Mylee,

It may be your weight or some other reason. Obesity does lower fertility. It is difficult for the body when their is obesity and then weight loss. It is great for you to lose that much weight. Please be patient with your body, as it needs to adjust to your weight loss and diet improvements. Keep that up! Fem Rebalance is a great herbal blend specific to aiding women through times of hormonal imbalance due to weight loss, stress, or HRT. The Fertility Cleanse is a great place to begin. We do not suggest taking other herbs for fertility with the Fertility Cleanse. It may be best to begin Vitex or Fem Rebalance until the cycle after the Fertility Cleanse.

If you have been trying to conceive for over a year, you may want to ask your doctor for additional testing.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi krista,

Vitex works best when taken for 6-12 months consistently. You did not put what dosage you are taking, so I cannot comment on that. General suggested dosage is 1000mg a day. Learn more here: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ054jPvGHI&list=UUIUDHnmoWsJ6AZ6Dp_vYKqg&index=1&feature=plcp" rel="nofollow">Vitex for Fertility Q&A</a>

Hi Dalence,
I hope you can help me. Ever since I got married with my husband which is 3 year ago. My period have stop and I have gain weight. I thought I was pregnant but eveytime I took a home pregnancy test, the result is negative. So, I was worryng that something is wrong with me. I went to see the doctor and they did a blood test and the result was negative as well. The doctor told me that everything look fine and it might have do with stress or the weight gain. After while, my period came back every 3 or 4 months. But, then, it stop for about 8 months now and I'm worry again. So, I been eating healthy and working out to lose weight. I have lost a total of 30 pound. My period came back for a month and then it stop for 4 month now.
My husband and I decided that we are ready to have a baby. But, how can we conceive if I dont even get my period. What do you recommed that I should do? I was reading about the Vitex and Fertility Cleanse Kit and it seem to work very well. So, I thinking that i'm going to try it and see if I can get my period back to normal cycle. Can I drink both Vitex and Fertility Cleanse or do one at a time? Also, can I still drink green tea whiling I'm drinking both of Vitex and Fertility Cleanse. How long should I drink both of it before I can conceive? Can you please help me know. Is just too stressful and depression..
Thanks You,

Hi Dalene,
I have a question about Vitex. I have been taking it for about 3 months now, and it worked perfectly the first 2 months, I got my period right on time, but this month, nothing, it has been over 5 weeks, and I still havent gotten it. I did skip taking it for a few day because I was sick, would that be the reason that I got off my cycle? Or do you think I may need to increase the dose I am taking?

Hi Rochelle,

I am sorry to hear you are depressed. It is very confusing for the body to use birth control containing hormones and then one day not be getting those hormones any longer. Taking the birth control pill may further confuse your body. While it may bring on a menstrual cycle, it does not solve the issue of hormonal imbalance. Depo Provera is a very strong form of birth control, for some women it takes years to get their cycles back. You can learn how to balance your hormones after birth control here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/birth-control-fertility.html

Best Wishes,

Hi Nutmeg,

If you do not have a regular ovulation, you may take Vitex and Dong Quail all month long, except when you on your period. It would be really great for you to <a href="http://natural-fertility-info.com/guide-to-fertility-charting.html" rel="nofollow">learn how to chart your cycle</a>, that way you can begin to see if you are ovulating, when and this will help you to know when to take your herbs. Vitex and Dong Quai are safe for use together for most women.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Claire Patterson,

Many women have irregular periods after taking the morning after pill. You are borderline underweight, but BMI does not actually tell us what your fat content is. So it may or may not be your weight. It may be that you do not have enough body fat. Having enough estrogen is important for healthy bone formation, as well as a healthy menstrual cycle. Women need enough body fat to produce estrogen. Body fat cells, called adipocytes produce estrogen. Estrogens are primary female reproductive messengers. Estrogen is essential for healthy bone formation, healthy gene expression, maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, and is vital for a healthy menstrual cycle. Women who do not have adequate amounts of body fat may have menstrual cycle irregularities, anovulation and infertility problems. It may be time to consider how you can increase your good fat intake and gain a little body fat.

It is really hard to say for sure what it may be, your weight, or the morning after pill, either of those could be the culprit. Add a lot of stress on top of that and your period may not come back for some time. Learn great ways to manage stress here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/stress-and-your-fertility.html

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi, Dalene; in your comment #452 you wrote what doses to take and when about vitex and Don Quai but said don't take it during ovulation if you are trying to conceive? I don't ovulate so how would i know not to take them?

i don't get a period unless it is with provera; right now i am not taking any herbs but i want to start naturally. Both vitex and don quai is ok to take together? but just stop taking it once period starts? Thanks so so much w/ all your help. ?)O(?

Please help me! I need your help so badly. My period has suddenly stopped. I am so sure I am not pregnant. I don't exactly know the reason why, but i have a hint its because of the pills (Diane 35) I was taking before. I was regularly having my period before and my husband and I has decided I should take a contraceptive pills so as to avoid getting pregnant. After almost a year of medication I suddenly stopped and since then I never had my period for four consecutive months. What should I do to get my regular menstruation back?

Hi Vannessa arvizu,

First off learning how to <a href="http://natural-fertility-info.com/guide-to-fertility-charting.html" rel="nofollow">chart your cycle</a> would be good. If you know if you are ovulating and when, you will increase your chances of conception. Next consider any of the tips on this page, as these herbs may help to regulate the entire menstrual cycle. Trying for a baby for 3 years is a long time. Consider seeing a doctor to find out if there is something that is preventing pregnancy from taking place.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hello,
I wonder if you could help me. I haven't had a period in 6 months.
Due to a sad situation (in march 2011) I lost 2.5 stone. At first it was sudden but I have gradually lost more due to a positive change in diet and exercise. I was nearly 11 stone and now I am 8 stone 8 pounds which is fine for my height of 5f 4".
My periods have always been regular and I haven't been on birth control for years, but I had to take the morning after pill in June 2011, having just finished my last period to date. This induced bleeding as normal at the beginning of July. I havent had a period since.
I exercise for 30 mins to 1 hr nearly every day.
I am very healthy and eat a balanced diet. I don't smoke, I do drink from time to time socially, usually only at weekends and not excessively.
and I am under constant stress at work.
The doctor advised me that it is to do with weight and I have to gain some but I am not skinny or fat and for the first time in my life I feel just right and would like to stay this way. She said I am not producing enough estrogen which will thin my bones and the other option would be to take the pill to protect my bones. I feel reluctant to take the pill too as I desperately want a natural period and am scared of being infertile. Do you have any advice for me about things to take to get back to normal? Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Krystal,

Hopefully your doctor has addressed your hypothyroidism before putting you on Provera. Provera, while it may stimulate a menstrual period, does not solve your health problems. The herbs on this page may help, but not if your hypothyroidism is under control. You can learn how hypothyroidism affects fertility and pregnancy, as well as what you can do about it here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/solve-thyroid-problems-before-conceiving-a-baby.html

We offer <a href="http://natural-fertility-info.com/natural-fertility-email-consultations" rel="nofollow">consultations </a>if you feel completely lost on what to do.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Rajiah,

We do NOT suggest using vitex while also using fertility medications prescribed by your doctor. Vitex has been shown to alter the effectiveness of many fertility medications.

Women over 45 often need to focus on improving uterine and egg health as well as balancing hormones. A personal natural health care practitioner will be able to monitor and test your hormone levels as well as adjust remedies for your particular situation. Here are some guides that you may find helpful:
