Hi Veronica,

The recipe is for maca root powder that only contains maca root. The protein powder probably contains other ingredients. It may be that the maca you purchased is concentrated and that is why it recommends a lower dosage. It is always best to follow the directions on the label of the product you purchased.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

I purchased a bottle of royal maca that states for people under 50 the dosage is 1/4-1/3 tsp daily. Should I follow the bottle directions or what is on the recipe? Is the 1T maca which the recipe calls for by chance the protein mix maca? I saw those in a big 1 gallon container yesterday. The bottle i have is tiny which holds 2oz of the maca root powder...could you please clarify? Thanks!!

Hi Hadiza,

You can open the capsules and pour the powder into your smoothie.
