Hi Phoebe,

You may want to consider pure boric acid capsules inserted vaginally for 7 days. Or our Yeast Arrest suppositories may be something worth looking into. The Dong Quai may or may not have contributed to what you were experiencing, it could have been the overall cleansing effect as well. It is good you stopped the yeast cleanse because taking Dong Quai and anything that contains hormones is a bad idea.

Give your body some time to adjust.

Hi Tabitha,

-We do not support the use of False Unicorn rt, this plant is endangered.
-Give the Metformin more time, it has only been two weeks. Support healthy insulin levels by eating a PCOS specific fertility diet.
-Discontinue any fertility herbs at least a week prior to beginning medications for fertility like Provera or Clomid.
-PCOS take long-term lifestyle and diet changes, it must be worked at daily. Be consistent and patient!

If you would like a natural approach to reducing PCOS, please consider a consultation.

Best Wishes

Hi chidimma,

Maca and Dong Quai have been shown safe to use at the same time. Primuolut N is a fertility medication containing norethisterone and should NOT be taken with maca and Dong Quai, or any other fertility herbs.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi gypsy,

I am sorry, that dosage was incorrect. 350-450mg is incorrect. The correct dosage for Fertilica Dong Quai is 3120mg a day (max dosage). I have updated the comment to reflect the correct amount.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Dalene, I have the mirena IUD in place and have for two years. This most recent cycle ive been having "pregnancy" symptoms for past 2 weeks like headache, hot flashes, hunger, gas, sore nipples and weepiness. (i recognise these because i have two kids ages 3 and 5.) Thing is, i started taking a yeast cleanse pill from solaray about 1 month ago and dong quai is one of the ingredients. The dosage was not one of the ingredients listed out by milligram so it had to be fairly small. Could this be enough to cause my symptoms? Or, to counteract the progesterone in the mirena iud? Ive taken a pregnancy test and it was neg, but may have been too early. I stopped my yeast cleansing around the day i ovulated, just to be safe. Lucky me the yeast is back. Many thanks in advance for any insights you might have.

I decided to get on birth control when I was in high school to help regulate my periods because my menstrual cycle had never been regular and it worked almost immediately. My husband and I decided it was time to start trying to conceive a little one so I got off birth control over a year ago and since then I have only had 4 periods. I saw my gynecologist for my regular checkup and after much research and the initial test it was discovered that I have PCOS. I am currently taking 500 mg daily of metformin. It?s been just under two weeks and I still have yet to see any weight loss or signs of change and that concerns me. My husband and I are eager to start our little family and even though we know this is God?s hands I couldn?t help but research fertility treatments. I read online that there are some natural herbs that can also help so I have started taking Red Raspberry, False Unicorn Root, and Dong quai. I picked those up today and am crossing my fingers. I will see my doctor again in Feb 8th and I am hoping to up my dose of Metformin and get on Provera. If that doesn?t work then in 6 months I will see a fertility doctor about clomid. Am I on the right track?

Hi Em,

You could ask your doctor to do a hormone test panel. That way you would know if you are low or high on any one hormone levels. In the mean time you may want to read over our Uterine Fibriods page, it has information you may find useful! Your diet sounds like it is good! Don't forget to exercise as well, 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week.

Bets Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Keiadra,

Yes, Dong Quai has helped many women to regulate their cycles and go on to conceive. Because I have very limited information, only clues to what your fertility struggles are, there is no way for me to say if Dong Quai is a good choice for you or not. Learn about the best natural remedies for PCOS here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/pcos-fertility-diet We also have great consultations if you feel you need more help.

Best Wishes,

Hello,
I am 31 years old and just found out that I have two marble sized fibroids on my uterus. My doctor doesn't seem to be worried but my husband and I would like to try for baby number 4. She seems to think all is okay but I deep down just want these foreign things out of me!!! I find it very hard to talk to any Doctor about herbal remidies as they seem to look at me like I am stupid, so upon my searching I discoverd this wesite. I am wondering if this could be something that would help me?. I already take, a probiotic (as I have a sensitive digestive system), b6, Omega 3-6-9 and a daily vitamin, I eat only fresh fruits and veggies, and my meats are chicken and fish. I drink a protein shake a day. I recently found out that I have an allergy to wheat eggs and dairy. So I have had to change around my whole diet and have had great results but then I go to the dr and have these fibroids. I also noticed my hair is falling out more, and I am wondering if my estrogen levels are messed up.... Is there anything else I can do with my diet? Please help as I am just wanting to provide a safe and healthy womb for our baby to come....

My husband and I have been ttc for a while now. I have tried clomid 50mg but that did not work. I also tried vitex and it caused my blood pressure to go up so now I am trying Don Quai. Has anyone became pregnant using this herbal drug? Is this the right herbal drug for me? I also have PCOS.

Hi Christine,

Honestly I have no experience with using Dong Quai on a woman who has undergone a hysterectomy. I have never come across information between Dong Quai use and hysterectomy. Dong Quai does act on the uterus and uterine bleeding directly. It also increases circulation and may be protective of cardiovascular health. It is a nourishing source of iron.

Your uterus played a key role in hormonal communication and balance, now that it is gone, the communication is broken. Consider herbs that support proper function of the endocrine system, which communicates and works with the entire reproductive system. Adaptogen herbs....
-Maca Lepidium meyenii
-Ashwaganda Withania somnifera
-Schizandra Schizandra chinensis
-Holy Basil/Tulsi Ocimum sanctum
-Licorice Glycyrrhiza spp.
-American Ginseng Panax quinquefolius
-Eleuthero, formerly known as Siberian Ginseng Eleutherococcus senticosus
-Gotu Kola Centella asiatica

I urge you to consider working one-on-one with a Women's Health Naturopathic Doctor in your area. Your condition is beyond our scope of practice. I am sorry I cannot be of more help.

Best Wishes to you!

Hi Miriam,

It is best to begin those herbs after the Fertility Cleanse is over. Since you have just begun them it may be best to stop them if you are going to do the Fertility Cleanse. Then they may be started again after the cleanse is over.

All the best,

Dalene

Hi Sophy,

Some people get an upset, gassy stomach when taking Dong Quai, though this is very rare. Be sure you are taking it with food and water. In addition, consider a good probiotic, fertmented foods like raw saurkraut, ect., to aid in proper digestions and absorption of not only foods, but of the Dong Quai.

Thank you for sharing your positive results!
