Where Do I Start and With What?

Postby Mal913 » Wed Dec 16, 2009

I have been taking a form of Birth Control since I was 13 years old to regulate my cycles. I stopped at about 19, then began again at 21. I am now 22. Ever since my cycle began they were always very painful, with heavy bleeding with medium to large blood clots. I have been to many differnent doctors who have done nothing but keep me on Birth Control so that I would have normal cycles.
I REALLY want and need to stop taking them. My husband and I are trying to have a baby. I am sick of taking pills everyday and wish i could find a BETTER, MORE NATURAL way to regulate my cycle without putting our "trying to get pregnant" in harms way.
I am going to do a Fertility Cleanse, (I'll let you know how that goes), as well as start taking the Whole Food Multivitamin, get some form of Maca for myself and my husband to begin taking.
MY QUESTIONS ARE: What can I take during or after the Fertility Cleanse, and while preparing for pregnancy to keep my periods in order so that I won't have a cycle every day, all the time. (That's what happens when I stop taking birth control. My cycle never stops!) My SECOND QUESTION IS: After the Fertility Cleanse, can I take both the Whole Food Multivitamin, (Baby and Me) with the Maca? (Which form of Maca would be better if so, or does it really matter what form? ie: pill, powder, etc.)).
I am trying to get this information before I purchase anything.....
Thank You and PLEASE HELP.

Hi Mal913,

The Fertility Cleanse is a great place to start! You may take the Maca during the Fertility Cleanse. Choosing what form of Maca is up to you. Most people like to take it in the powdered form because you can put it in Fertility Smoothies, oatmeal, juice, ect. Some people can't stand the taste and they choose the capsules or tincture (drops).

The Whole food vitamins can be taken with anything and should be taken daily.

The best herb for regulating menstruation is Vitex. One of the reasons Vitex is so effective and popular is because of its ability to balance hormones while not containing hormones itself. Vitex supports hormonal balance in the body by having an effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axins (hormonal feedback loop), correcting the problem at the source.

Vitex is an incredible hormone balancer, which adapts to women’s different needs. Vitex has been shown to normalize heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), relieve amenorrhea (absent menstrual cycle), and decrease polymenorrhea (too frequent periods). Vitex even eases inflammation of the uterus or ovaries, so it’s good choice for women prone to painful fibroids or cysts, too.

You would want to begin the Vitex after the cleanse.

I recommend a Natural Fertility Consultation. It is difficult for us to answer your questions based on just a small piece of the bigger picture of your health. It is helpful for us to know your lifestyle, health history, fertility challenges and detailed questions. That is why Hethir has created Fertility Consultations. This will better help us to guide you in the right direction for bringing about a balanced body and fertility. Honestly we need more information to serve you better. The forums are a place of discussion and simple advice, not a full work-up. :)

Best Wishes,
