Spotting 10 DPO

Postby CARRIERMILLER » Fri Jan 08, 2010

I am not sure if anyone can help at this point but after 5 years I am not giving up just yet. For some reason EVERY month at 10 DPO i will start spotting. My cycle is 25 days and I usually ovulate on day 10. I am finishing up the fertility cleanse this month, but today (10 DPO) I started spotting again. How can I possibly get pregnant if I start spotting at 10 days past ovulation??? Specialists said it was nothing and they were not concerned w/ it. I have ovulation pains every month, good follicle count, everything else seems to be just fine. Tube's are not blocked ~ had the HSG test and laparoscopy done about 2 yrs ago everything was normal. I just turned 34, fairly healthy. I don't smoke or drink and have been on a Gluten Free diet for 4 months. I take B6, Viatex, Alfalfa, Wheat Grass, Fish Oil & Crampbark & False Unicorn Root.

Is there ANYTHING out there that might help me have a normal cycle???

Are you being consistent? Herbs such as Vitex take a minimum of 6-12 cycles to achieve results. Consistency is key when taking herbs.

Yes I am very good about taking them either once a day or twice a day depending on the herb.

Have you ever had your Progesterone Levels tested?

After ovulation progesterone production is triggered by Luteinising Hormone (LH) which stimulates the corpus luteum (the remnant egg sac) in the ovary to produce progesterone. One of the main actions of progesterone with fertility is to help support a developing embryo.

If pregnancy occurs, the production of progesterone continues from the corpus luteum continues for about 7 weeks (it is then produced by the placenta for the duration of the pregnancy). If pregnancy did not occur, the period begins 14 days after ovulation. When fertilization does not occur, the corpus luteum disintegrates which causes the level of progesterone to fall and this causes the endometrial tissue to disintegrate and shed as menstruation.

Could your progesterone levels be falling too early or are they not maintaining a high enough level? When do you take Vitex in your cycle? Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

Warmly,

Dalene
