L-Arginine and Evening Primrose Oil

Postby drllsn07 » Sun Jun 27, 2010

I am taking 1500 mg/day of L-Arginine to help increase my cervical mucus. Is it true that you should stop taking it after two weeks then restart again? Should I also add Evening Primrose Oil if I am already taking Omega 3 6 9? What benefits would I gain by taking all three supplements slong with my prenatal?

Hi Ann,

I have never heard of taking L-Arginine that way. If it is stated on the NFI site somewhere to do that please send me the link, thanks.

EPO is rich in Omega 3's. Do not take EPO after ovulation as it may cause mild uterine contractions, which for some women prone to miscarriage may pose a slight risk of another miscarriage.

EFA's are essential for the production of hormones in both the woman and men. Hormones use these fats as building blocks for what will become progesterone and many other reproductive hormones.

I am not sure what your fertility challenges are so I am not sure what benefits of the above products would be specific actions for your particular situation.
