Vitex or Pregnancy Prep

Postby sillymommyX3 » Wed Mar 31, 2010

Hi.

I am hoping you can help me. I want to increase my luteal cycle and shorten my periods. they last about 9 days. The dr. said the only way to do that was to go on the birth control for awhile, but I want ttc after my fertility cleanse this month. After the fertility cleanse, i will start my fertility smoothies and vitex or pregnancy prep since egg health is an issue b/c I'm quickly approaching 40. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hi,

Vitex has been found to help normalize ovulation and improve a short luteal phase. In one study, vitex helped normalize progesterone levels and increased the luteal phase from 5.4 days to 11.4 days.

Pregnancy Prep is a great blend for women who want to boost their general fertility and enhance their chances of conception. The herbs in this blend help to:
-Improve ovulation*
-Support fertilization and implantation of the egg
-Tone the uterus
-Promote circulation to the reproductive system
-Encourage uterine health
-Normalize progesterone levels

Vitex is more specific in lengthenging the luteal phase, Pregnancy Prep is an overall fertility tonic. The two can be combined safely, but Pregnancy Prep contains Vitex so it is important not to exceed the recommended daily dosage of Vitex if combining the two. The general dosage for Vitex is 1000 mg. a day.

best wishes,

Dalene

Thanks for the information Dalene. Can you take pregnancy prep, vitex and the baby and me multi-vitamin together? They seem to contain the same digestive enzymes.

Thanks so much.

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knows specifically why you cannot take vitex during your period? Just curious, since I take vitex.

Thank You,
LadyJ

Hi Lady J,

Please do not double post questions on different areas of the NFI site, it becomes time consuming and confusing for me. Thank you for your understanding!

You may want to attatch the link to my answer to your question on this thread.
