hi - i am 39 years old, going on 40 this year. my partner is 40, going on 41, and had a vasectomy about 7 years ago. i have been pregnant before (i have no kids) and he has one child (from a previous marriage), so we know certain things are or were possible. we are both fit and healthy, eat relatively well, don't smoke, and drink socially. we would like to have a child relatively soon (within the next 2 years). we are at the very beginning of this journey so no major steps have been taken yet. the first steps will be a fertility evaluation for me and a vasectomy reversal for him. i just recently learned that the pregnancy rate after a reversal decreases in proportion to the time between the vasectomy and the reversal and that the average time to conceive under normal circumstances is a year and could take up to 2 years. given this information about our ages, situation, and the stats for vasectomy reversal, does anyone out there know of success stories of people able to conceive who are similarly situated? i'm just trying to be hopeful while being totally realistic. thanks!
