New to temping, have a question

Postby fellow_cyster » Sun Aug 09, 2009

Hey ladies,

While I have suggested BBT's to everyone, I'm relatively new to it. I'm trying naturally this cycle, as opposed to being on a bunch of IF meds the last times we tried to get pregnant, so I figured I'd better try this thing.

From what I know, my chart looks good, however I ovulated over 14 days ago and still no period. Now, from my knowledge you will have a cycle 14dpo....but I haven't.

Not pregnant, at least the PG said no...so I'm wondering, am I missing something? My temps don't show that I may have ovluated later, so I'm really confused.

I'm currently on Vitex, my last cycle was 41 days so my cycle length should be less, according to my history with Vitex....(I've been on it for 5 months and its always regulated my cycle by month 5)

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance....
Here's my chart:

Hi,
Not sure if you got your period eventually but just read your post and had a look at your chart. It looks like you ovulated on day 22 but because the following day your temperature dipped below the coverline, according to Toni Weschler's book you would have to start counting the dpo from after that day instead. However, its hard to tell if you should have started counting on day 24/25 because it doesnt look like you charted your temperatures on days 24 and 25 so not sure what the values would have been.

Have you read Toni Weschler's 'Taking charge of your fertility' ? If you havent, I would highly recommend it. Its better than anything ive seen on charting and explains all sorts of strange patterns you may notice on your charts. A word of advice though, I dont know if you're like me but Ive been temping since feb 2009 and started my fifth cycle yesterday. As beneficial as this whole charting business is, I found it can sometimes make you somewhat even more stressed. The more ive been charting, the more I find myself obsessing over every little temperature rise or dip. I was so sure I had finally gotten pregnant the last cycle, my luteal phase was longer than usual, i got what looked like an implantation dip 7dpo followed by a third level of temperatures from day 7 all the way till day 14 and then next thing you know just when i was preparing to take a pregnancy test on 15dpo, my temperature fell and period started. Was soo heartbroken. But then again that could just be me.
