I cannot say for sure. Vitex takes many months of consistent use to acheive full benefits (6-12 months and beyond).

I don't really have enough information about you to say what may be happening. You may be interested in a Natural Fertility Consultation.

I know we are to stop taking Vitex while on our periods, I am also taking FertilAid which is a prenatal that also has Vitex in it. Should I stop taking that as well during my period?

Many women have asked about that supplement, because it is not ours I cannot comment on it. If it contains Vitex it probably should not be taken during menstruation, plus I don't know what other herbs it contains.

It is a Prenatal Vitamin or Fertility Supplement?

According to the lable it is a fertility supplement. It contains the same vitamins as in the Baby & me and pregnancy prep supplements combined so I think I will cut back on using Fertilaid while menstrating. Thanks again!

What happens if you do take it during your period? I didn't realize you weren't suppose and I did take it. Also do you only stop while actively bleeding or even if just spotting?

Enette,

Menstruation is a time for letting your body naturally cleanse itself and utilize its own hormones to do what it needs to on its own. Your body works hard to rid itself of the lining of the uterus in preparation for the next phase of the cycle. Most herbs like Vitex and Dong Quai work to help ovulation, because this is a different time in the cycle it can be confusing for your body to take it during the bleeding phase. If you are only spotting a little bit it would be ok to continue the herbs, if you are bleeding more consistently it would be best to stop.
