There are a lot of ways to track ovulation. Most use ovulation predictor kits but they are incredibly inaccurate for those of us who have infertility problems (i.e. irregular cycles) so don't waste your money.

You can track your Basal Body Temperature. It will have you take your temp every morning at the same time. Also watch out for cervical position and softness/firmness (ovulation makes the cervix shorten and become very soft), as well as cervical mucus - the most fertile mucus resembles egg whites (which is why its referred to as EWCM or egg white cervical mucus.

All of these help you track your ovulation, which is essential when you have irregular periods or are trying to conceive.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ladies,

Basal Body Temperature, Ovulation Predictor Kits and Fertility Microscopes can all be used in combination, many women have more success charting when combining two methods. Before we jump to how much they cost and if they are available in your country lets learn about each of them and how they can help you to predict ovulation.

Many women with PCOS chart. There are also many on line communities with charting support groups. You can start one here if you like by posting your charting experiences.

Here is a 3 part series on Charting your Menstrual Cycle:

If you would like to learn more about the Fertility Microscope (saliva test) go here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/ovulation-fertility-microscope.html

mrswaqar,

Some women experience a slight dull pain when ovulating or a sharp pain. Every woman is different, some feel nothing. Learning to chart your menstrual cycle will help you to see when you are about to and when you may be ovulating. Learning to chart takes time and patience. When you see on your chart that you may be ovulating, you will then want to have sexual intercourse for those next few days (when you are most fertile). Can you ask a doctor in your area to help you get started with charting, is there a clinic that can help you? I know you live in another country, maybe having someone in your native language help you would be best.

Warmly,

Dalene

I am not sure what you mean by "sexual intercourse pain", are you experiencing pain during sexual intercourse?

When you have pain during ovulation it is usually on the side (left or right) of the ovary that is releasing a follicle.

Your ovaries are just above and between your pubic bone and your hip bone on both sides of your body. That is where you may feel ovulation pain.

Having a cyst may cause pain as well.

Have a good day,
