General Supplement Questions~

Postby cowgirlchick » Tue May 18, 2010

Ok...I have several questions about supplements and herbs and such: I am currently taking a fertility support supplement called Pro-Creation. This supplement contains vitex and a bit of maca as well as all other standard vitamins/minerals, DHA from fish oil, and several food source nutrients as well. This is a whole-food supplement. I am also taking vitamins B6 and B12, 500mg royal jelly, and 500mg maca. Am I taking the right supplements in the right amounts? The Pro-Creation and B vitamins I only take 2 pills once a day as per the label, but the royal jelly and maca I am unsure of. The label says I can take up to 3 a day. Should I take the highest doseage or.....?

Also.....once pregnancy has been achieved, what should I STOP taking? Should the Pro-Creation be stopped due to the vitex content? What about the other supplements?

Are there any ADDITIONAL supplements you recommend? I am a recurrent miscarriage sufferer.....

Any tips and advice would be great!

:)

In general it would be best to start on the lower end of dosage for supplements and see how your body reacts to them, adjust the dose if you feel you need to. Becuase the product you are taking already contains Maca, be sure not to exceed the daily recommended dosage for Maca which is, Dosage: General suggested usage is 2000-3000 mg a day. To obtain desired results, maca needs to be taken regularly.

Stop taking Vitex if you become pregnant. Ask your doctor about continuing the Maca and Royal Jelly, you need to get the ok from them.

If you would like to learn what else you can do to help prevent another miscarriage you may want to read our recurrent miscarriages page at this link: http://natural-fertility-info.com/preventing-miscarriage
