I was wondering if anyone knew if having cats can cause infertility. I have heard it can and it can't. It wouldn't really be the cats as it would be changing the litter and stuff I would assume. Thanks

I was wondering the same thing because I heard that rumor before. I own a persian cat so I'm curious about this as well..

I know that pregnant women are not supposed to change cat litter or be around cat feces because it may harm the baby and mother, but never heard about it causing infertility. If anyone has time to find an article online a post the link here that would be great.

Y'know, I have a cat myself and have been having trouble conceiving. . .so, obviously once I saw this topic, I IMMEDIATELY ran a search on "cats and infertility." I searched online for a good 20 minutes and I have to say that (luckily for me) cats don't cause any sort of infertility. . .at least there's no proof they do. In fact, many women spoke up in other forums stating that they popped out lots of children with cats around (lucky them. lol). The only that was advised was not to change the litter box while pregnant -- which Dalene already stated.
