Hey i stupidly got the depo shot after losing a baby in August it ran out in October but i know it can take up to a year to completely leave your system. I'm taking milk thistle 3 times a day to try and help my liver flush out any left over hormones but i was also wondering if you could suggest anything else i could take to help my CM to get thicker?
Thank you.

Hi Bunmi,

It is best to stick to one supplement at a time. This gives your body time to adjust to it and time for you to notice any changes. If you begin other supplements at the same time, for the same issue, you may not know which one is working or not.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Rabia,
I am not familiar with those medications as I am an herbalist, not a doctor. Please speak with your doctor if you have questions about medications you are on. Have you read our PCOS guide? You will find some helpful information there: http://natural-fertility-info.com/pcos-fertility-diet

Sammy,
The best suggestion I can give is for you to book a Fertility Consultation. We can take a look at your health history, menstrual cycle, diet, etc. And then make suggestions based on your personal situation. The supplements you are currently taking are great as a foundational supplement program, but not what we would specifically suggest for regulating your cycle. Vitex is definitely an herb for you to look into for harmonizing your cycle as well as dong quai.

Yeast infections are caused from having candida in the body. None of these supplements promote the growth of yeast (sugars are the main cause) in the body. Diet changes can help with clearing the yeast infection, mainly cutting out sugar and increasing your consumption of probiotic foods are the two first steps one can take.

Hey! Ladies,
Just eat Ladies fingers ( Okra ), it works like crazy, just within days you get wet,wet.wet. If you dont get pregant, try drinking molasses, the dark syrup from sugar cane and the good news is, it clears fibroids as well.

Hi Dalene,

I have been on spirulina, folic acid, royal jelly and epo for a month and a half now to hopefully regulate my monthly periods and generate more fertile mucus. My periods have been 44 days and more and never regular. I also experience lack in sexual desire and no fertile mucus before this. Though i hv been taking these supplements for a while now, it doesnt seem to do anything. Been ttc for 4 months now and still no luck. I have been doing bbt's for a month now and it does show that i did ovulated. Oh and by the way, ive had a yeast infection since being on the supplements, dont know for sure that they were to blame for the infection though.

What are your thoughts on this as i do really want to know whether i am on the right track to succeed in getting pregnant. I would really like to know as well how do i get to have 28 day cycle as compared to what im going through now. Thx.

Hi Amy,

Honestly there is not enough research to say if it is safe to supplement with L-Arginine while breastfeeding your baby. It would be best to consider trying other known safe alternatives like Evening Primrose Oil to increase cervical mucous. Peruvian natives have been consuming maca for thousands of years, with no known toxic side effects. They almost exclusively breastfeed their babies. I have also know that many breastfeeding moms consume maca, but again there is really no research on the subject, so I cannot say if it "safe" or not.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Hi Nique,

Flax oil and fish oil are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 acids have been shown to help fertility by helping to regulate hormones in the body, increase cervical mucous, promote ovulation and overall improve the quality of the uterus by increasing the blood flow to the reproductive organs. Omega-3 fatty acids should be part of a nutrient dense whole food diet. They help to promote essential proper functions in the body. Maintaining adequate levels of essential fatty acids help the body to function normally. Having little to no cervical mucous is a sign of an imbalance in the body. So, consuming flax oil regularly may help to balance health overall, which may increase cervical mucous. Flax oil alone should not be relied upon to increase CM, though it may help. If you desiring to increase CM, the suggestions in this article may be better than flax alone. Depending on what your fertility issues are, your dietary and exercise habits, there is no real way for me to know how long it may take for your CM to come back to adequate levels.

Best Wishes!

Dalene

Yes, both maca and L-Arginine have been shown safe to use at the same time.

All the best,
